During
a re-furb we fully dismantle the
forks, they are then inspected
for wear and thoroughly cleaned
both outside and within the fork
cartridges. All chrome sections
such as the stanchion are then
checked for chips or damage then
polished to reduce friction.
The
forks will then be carefully re-assembled
replacing all oil seals, o-rings
and any bushes that are needed.
The next stage is to fill the
legs with the correct oil level
and subsequently set the air gap.
Once
these levels are correct the forks
will be set up for the rider by
adjusting the compression and
rebound damping followed by setting
of the sag.
